Everyone understands how important dental care is for people.  Do you know that it is equally important to maintain the teeth of your beloved pets?  I bet you didn't know that your pets can begin to exhibit signs of dental disease as young as one year of age.   According to the American Veterinary Dental College, most dogs and cats exhibit some signs of periodontal disease by the age of three. 

The severity of dental disease can be categorized as Grade 1,  2, 3, or 4 with grade 4 being the most severe.  Just like us, our pets begin having dental issues when bacteria in the mouth begin to harden on their teeth and form plaque.  Left untreated, this plaque will form into tartar which becomes a hardened substance.  Tarter can form both on the tooth and underneath the gums causing damage and can lead to the decay of your pet’s teeth, making it difficult for them to eat.   In addition, the bacteria from the tartar and the plaque can ultimately cause long term damage to your pet's liver, kidneys, and heart.

Many pet owners report the cost of routine dental cleanings as the reason they go without  them for their pets.  It is for this reason that Dr. Huff offers dental cleanings with extractions at such a reasonable price; between $300 and $350.  Our goal is to provide routine preventative dental cleanings because we understand that proper dental care can improve a pet’s quality of life and help prevent more serious diseases.  It is a fact that many animals live with oral pain, they eat and act normal until it becomes critical.  We are excited to be able to offer affordable dental cleanings to help people take better care of their pet’s mouth.
